technological advances

As the years advance technology is much better in every area, one of the foremost those related to medicine. Small discoveries have led to develop devices that are efficient and are for a good diagnosis of a disease, prevention, its evolution and its treatment. We have the example of X-rays to visualize the status of a bone and from these behaviors and take actions to improve the patient and so there are new technologies to facilitate many processes without being invasive.

One area of medicine is obstetrics is the area that interests me because this study.
One of the best track is the ultrasound, this lets you view the embryo implanted in a short time, allowing among many other things to get a timely diagnosis of the weeks of gestation, if it is not known the date of the last menstrual period in this period also permits early to know the site of implantation. And much later in the pregnancy, will show whether the fetus is developing well, your weight, height and time to diagnose if they had a congenital malformation and thus prepare expectant parents and also prepare professionals who attend childbirth to know what treatment to give the newborn. Today, ultrasound is much clearer, and enables the features of the fetus, namely sex. In addition to see how his vital signs. 4D ultrasound, which are the most modern technology allows us to observe different parts of the baby as well as any patient, so that makes the cuts as a CT scan of the body being studied and, subsequently, the device scans Three-dimensional reconstruction. In addition, this new equipment is beneficial to study the physiological motor activity and the fetus. This is clearly beneficial for professionals as it allows to watch and that if a change does not take them by surprise and have the necessary equipment at hand to improve the condition of the newborn or fetus, but this does not mean that other types of scans are not efficient, mainly differ in the quality of the image, where the latter is not exactly the traits of the fetus, but both are good for diagnosis as those mentioned above.

In conclusion I can say that thanks to new technologies have improved the quality of life of people and in particular has played an important role in health, because without undergoing surgery or in the case of midwifery without having to fetus or embryo without touching this and we know it, know how they are working their organs and systems, we can diagnose your weeks of gestation which helps us to know that conduct taken with the mother, allows us to prepare for the time of delivery and also finally gives the mother the option of knowing the sex of their child and the state of him.

YOGA

YOGA

Yoga is a technique that works the mind, body and spirit, is an ancient discipline that was born thousands of years in the East.
Just as people often resort to medicine and psychology to spend your stress this is a new way to heal stress ... is a very effective alternative therapy.
There are different types of yoga such as Hatha Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Raja Yoga, Tantra Yoga, Yoga Sapta and these differing mainly in theories and practice.
There are more static yoga and other yogas that are more dynamic. Other types of yoga will pay more attention to standing postures, breathing others. The type of yoga you want a person depends on the need she has.

Today many doctors recommend practicing yoga when they see that your patient is stressed.
It is usually used as an adjunct treatment although there are some who do not believe in the effectiveness that can have this practice.
The benefits to the individual are varied and depend on many factors such as physical and mental state, what type of illness, food, how to take the practice, among others.
This alternative therapy is also useful in pregnant women, we know that does not harm the woman or the baby, but instead provides a safe practice to ensure good health during pregnancy and childbirth.
Some yoga postures are to avoid the usual aches, nausea, constipation, bloating, headaches.
Also ensure that the fetus has more free space for growth in the uterus. Other positions are to facilitate a natural birth and make it much easier.

Ell yoga works on the Chakras, which are energy centers that are located in different parts of the body.
By acting on these points, it does is bring the area and let the energy flow, flow and creates a balance and these points are stimulated with different postures and meditation.
To do yoga just need comfortable clothing, be barefoot so they also work the muscles of the feet, being in a quiet environment, do not cold or hot, with music (or without music) and if need be
Use mats to feel more relaxed to reach the necessary concentration that this practice is intended.

Brain

The presentation by Dr. Maldonado was very interesting because it was around the brain of various animals and how it differs from the human brain. In addition there was myths surrounding this complex structure.
There are many myths surrounding the brain and something caught my eye is the shape and size according to species. For example the human brain is smaller than the dolphin, but no dolphins are more intelligent than man. Something that if you have to recognize is that the dolphin in animal species is very intelligent. Instead the brain of a squirrel in addition to being small is quite complex without a lot of grooves and a very smooth bark.
There is also difference between the brains of men and the brains of woman. Women to perform a complex activity that is used only three sections of the brain and both sides of this. While active man four sections, but on one side of the brain.
Making a comparison between the human brain and a computer if it is valid, because the computer is complex and can perform tasks and store information for a long time, but there are certain things that are unique to the brain and process information that may be delayed minutes while the computer just one second and also the brain is flexible or adapt to situations while the computer is reliable but is rigid.

The presentation made by Dr. Maldonado struck me as very good and that he not only taught a class but how to deliver knowledge was a dynamic and close for us to ask questions related to the topic or answer questions that arose . Also always good to know a little more structure to the surrounding myths and is so complex.
This presentation helped me to understand how men and women work and also to understand that the brain is unique and although there are objects that attempt to assimilate technology is almost impossible.

Abortion

Among the many issues addressed by Dr. Lorraine Binfa about sexuality ... there was one that caught my attention and abortion ... while being parents is an option, why get an abortion? Is it justifiable?

In Chile the contraceptive methods available to the community, either pills, condoms, among others, including public health services in clinics is delivering free condoms, just enough to be registered.
Also today there is family planning, which lets you decide how and at what point in life to have children based on contraceptive care and enables people to live their sexuality freely and responsibly, preventing unwanted pregnancies and even infections sexual transmission.

The use of contraceptive pills is a good method of preventing pregnancy but not STIs. For this method to be truly effective enough to take a pill every day trying to make it on the same schedule. This method can prevent a pregnancy so that you do not want and be exposed to such an abortion where life is at stake.
Remember that in Chile, abortion is not legal even for therapeutic practice, but despite this end, a large number of illegal abortions.

Something that is still in dispute is that if a woman is a being who has rights and is free why do not you may have to decide between life or that of his son when his life is in danger or in cases of fetal malformation why wait to be born and die ... that is to undergo a psychological abuse.

So I think that in cases where it is in danger the life of the mother (such as tubal pregnancies) is necessary to use a therapeutic abortion, and justified purposes, but what is totally wrong and do not consider it an option is abortion on a mistake by not being responsible and not use their right to free sexuality, the right way, because as I said above there are many ways to prevent reaching kill another life through family planning, so I agree with the position of Dr. Binfa

BLOG 4 : STRESS

Stress is a natural body response to facts that can be threatening. When the answer is given over an overload of stress affects the body and causes the appearance of diseases that prevent the normal development and functioning of the body.

The causes of stress are related to physiological diseases and injuries of the body, relating psychological to emotional and cognitive vulnerability and environmental are food, workplaces with poor security, disasters and so on.

Today it is fashionable to stress ... the hectic life, competitiveness in the world of work and little time for activities every day makes people join STRESS! The incidence of women with stress in Chile is 62.30% and men is 43.90% of the population ... but it is very difficult to determine exact figures.
The most common symptoms of stress are: depression, anxiety, headache, insomnia, indigestion, skin disorders, sexual dysfunction, increased heart rate, diarrhea or constipation, but should be persistent over time.

As every disease has consequences and can be divided into psychological and physical. The most common are: Anxiety, depression, pain, constipation or diarrhea, respiratory problems and heart problems.

Health professionals such as psychologists, psychiatrists and social workers manage stress recommend trying to find positive things, planning fun activities and resting. Good choices in physical activity outdoors, eating well, incorporating fruits and lots of proper meals, hanging out with people close and not keep friends, listening to music, practice yoga or meditation, listening to the body when I tell him to slow down or take a break. Good sleep habits are one of the best ways to manage stress.

morning after pill

Hello:
The so-called "morning after pill" was designed in the early 60s to prevent pregnancy after rape. Today, the tablet is recommended in cases such as voluntary unprotected sex, when the contraceptive method was used incorrectly, after the occurrence of an accident with a contraceptive method, such as condoms break or slip off, or in cases of rape .
. This pill is made from levonorgestrel and acts on the brain and ovary, by deleting the download from the pituitary hormones called gonodatrofinas which are those that induce ovulation.
Like any medication side effects levonorgestrel: in the hours after ingestion can cause nausea, vomiting, headaches, fatigue, stomach pain or dizziness.
It is said that when the egg is fertilized the pill does not cause any alteration. It is therefore important to take it as soon as possible so as to have the lowest chances of ovulation. The way to take it within 72 hours after intercourse.
In many places the approval that is not an abortion pill, placing them in clinics, pharmacies sell in Chile have been controversial and has not been the exception.
Free delivery of levonorgestrel generated intense debate in the country and faced in Congress, to the position of right-wing party, which opposed its distribution on the grounds that the pill could have abortifacient effects.
Given this, the Chilean President at the time, said the new law "does not oblige anyone to do something that goes against their moral or ethical principles, not authoritatively imposes an opinion on what should be done. What it does, by On the contrary, is to give freedom to women, giving the opportunity to choose for themselves and for themselves. "
My opinion about the controversy generated by levonorgestrel, is that it is not abortive, because for me life begins when implantation and when the baby is desired. I believe the use of the pill in cases of emergency is justified because the child may not have the necessary love and will only be a problem for their parents. What we do not condone is that you take every time the person does not care, because the idea is also to have responsible sex.

My favorite animal

While I love animals, my favorite animals are dolphins and dogs. Speaking of dogs is much more common today to comment about the most cute and funny animals ... Dolphins. These beautiful animals come to be measured about four meters and can weigh up to 300 kilos ... live in groups of six or more. This enables them to care for each other and protected from predators (even help in raising). Also communicate through whistles, rattles and squeaks that are not random, it is their language, and it is shown that they can post questions and answers.
What I like is that they are playful, sociable, and who are seen jumping into the sea and following boats.
Something that catches my attention to them is the ability to learn, understand and analyze and as I read this is due to the great development of the brain and nervous system. Your brain is even more complex than the human being.
One thing that saddens me is that although they make many big jumps and spins, when a network of traps are not able to escape and are helpless and often die accidentally breaks ... for them are expressions of joy and freedom, play with air bubbles in the form of rings, which are themselves to exhale through their blowholes.
One of the things I like to dive and the future is to learn more about the environment and atmosphere of these animals and also be able to swim with them as many times I've seen in movies and stories.

my favorite book

My favorite book is called Pride and Prejudice. This book is the writer Jane Austen, is one of his most famous works was first published in January 1813 and a few years ago was brought to the screen as a movie.
I read in 2008 and was recommended by a friend who had read a few weeks before, told me the plot of the book and I was interested in spite of being with a lot of things at the University I had the time to read it and I really loved. So much so that he could not stop reading it.
I really liked because it is a love story between two young people who know little by little in various places. Is an exciting story and that each page tells something interesting because the two main characters have to overcome some obstacles in order to realize its love, in the case of her (Elizabeth) the prejudice that forms the first time you see Darcy (his lover) and Darcy on the other side had to overcome her character proud.

I recommend reading it because it is an entertaining story of love and perhaps often happens in real life where one is driven by prejudices and first impressions or even pride.
Also of note is the fun and light with which Jane Austen describes the events and that is enveloping the reader in the sweet story.
The interesting thing about this book is that despite being a story of ancient times, where for example, parents who chose to marry the daughter, giving importance to the economic well-being more than love can be a story that happens in life changing some real circumstances, and that pride and prejudice as it is called the book is something of all time.

Blog 9

The most typical mistakes I made in my previous blogs are unclear, this is because I use words that do not match and makes the sentence is poorly understood. They are also problems of vocabulary and grammatical in some.
In the various blogs of the semester I have learned new words that have boosted my vocabulary (which is not very wide) rather than pronouncing the words I know that I can write much more, even to tell my classmates to do words out of my own vocabulary which is very good.
I find the themes that have made us write are very interesting, because it makes us think about the future employment and what we want for ourselves and more to write is a ground wire to the future. Furthermore we can express opinions about what we like and what you think.
To me it is not difficult to write about the issues we propose and say that I like and I am also quite creative.
Something else that I delight of blogging is that through them we know what you think on certain issues the classmates and know a little more in other areas. It has really been a good experience to do the blogs.

Blog 8

In future I would like to work in the specialty of neonatology and my dream job is head of neonatology be matron of a hospital.
The Neonatology is the specialty that cares for the care of the baby from birth to 28 days of life. You have a high risk area, in which as the name says it serves all those newborns with complications of various kinds and much more agitated as he lives. Patients who would treat serious day by day to newborns up to 28 days, as I said earlier and I love it.
I like to work in the public area because I think there is a greater number of births which would give me more work and greater responsibilities.
The working environment I like a lot of tranquility, (but with the cries of babies will not be possible and in addition to the hectic environment, which may occur due to emergencies) and fun where colleagues are friendly and willing to cooperate on . Obviously I would love and would be ideal if my colleagues are some of my friends that would be really cool
My ideal schedule would work Monday to Friday from early in the morning (I prefer to work in the afternoon) until 4, but this is not possible due to health as a career often requires extended hours and even in night shifts :D

BLOG 7 : The notebook

There are many movies that I like love and thrill, for example ps: i love you is one of them, but this time tell the love story of the movie The notebook that for me is undoubtedly one of the sweetest stories.
Begin counting it was a film that Nick Cassavetes directed the 2004 romantic genre is 124 minutes long.
This movie was set in the 40s and begins in a nursing home where an elderly man telling a story to a woman who had impaired memory and that only by remembering the stories of times past. The story that this old story was of a summer love between two young, the girl named Allie Hamilton and boy named Noah. Allie was a wealthy girl who traveled to Seabrook to spend the summer with his family. It is here where he met Noah in a fair lugara. Noah saw it and felt like love at first sight, she was the woman of his life and that life would pass together. Although he was a factory worker and she a rich girl, they fell deeply in love in a passionate summer.
The circumstances and the outbreak of World War II separated them, but both retained the vivid memory of the other. Noah wrote him a letter every day for a year, but receiving no answers of his beloved Allie did not continue doing it. the truth was that Allie never received his letters because his mother stopped him because she was opposed to that relationship. When Noah came back from the war is already gone out of Allie's life, but not his heart, but Noah did not know.
To spend time there came back to Seabrook, but was engaged to a handsome soldier she met in a hospital militar.Ella saw Noah and his secret love was reborn and so took the decision of his life .... and guess! the old man who told her the history of women was nothing more and nothing less than Noah and Allie .. materialized eh eh eh love them! (L) and as in every story and they lived happily together forever. :D

blog 6 EDUCATION AND PREVENTION

hello.... :)
Education is a continuous process and requires more time, where they will deliver knowledge, values, cultures, among others and is not only through words (classroom) but also through education and integration programs which address topics of interest and contingency in the community. People then according to their needs and by age can be given education and can be traditional or a more playful. Education can cover various topics (because it depends on needs of individuals) but focused on the health area include the following: cancer, sexuality, hygiene, prevention of respiratory diseases, heart healthy lifestyles, nutrition and so much more. ... To educate is to know who needs this education and there are several factors that determine age, gender, environment, educational level ... but all ever need education (all ages) of some sort for something they say never to learn End up: D. ... also are given to educate people tools to prevent or ameliorate the disease or of the item concerned.
I personally would like to educate the population of children and young people in "healthy lifestyles" I believe that intervening in these sectors can age much lower number of diseases such as coronary and obesity because the person is educated in the ways of life that health will allow better strategic and versatile way (diet, exercise, addictions ....)
The country today has programs focused on this issue, either by encouraging the consumption of fruits and vegetables, drink water, exercise, and also has a number of advertising campaigns around it.

Helloo!
In the area of health as in almost all areas of work and life in general there are marked differences ... such as differences in roles, positions, salaries, etc. for men and women, but at the end of the day should not occur in these times "modern."
In the health area we can see that there are different professions and specialties, but not only is there a difference in this area but transcends beyond .. there are differences between men and women or gender difference.
There is a difference between men and women in pay and this happens in all fields even in those where there are more women, as in nursing. Nurses earn according to some polls 91% of their peers.
The professional development I think is fair for men and women, both can expand their knowledge in the areas of their interests and specialize in them. As to the types of patients will be same ... health professionals are men and women have the same types of patients, which will vary according to the spatial and such required to be in their category and personally, and reach people, etc.
A difference also between genres is to the charges and jobs. Men are more likely to take high positions and higher offices.

Blog 4! :D

Sometimes it is hard to imagine how it will be my future carrer, but when time passes so quickly leads me to alternate who want to do my future.

Once graduated as a midwife, which would be in 2013 if not failing any subject. I would like to immediately begin working to acquire skills so that only the practice of learning led me to develop and thus be better healt care ... i would like to start in the public area at least the early years (three years) to gain experience and feel the pressure of being in a public service where there are often many people who needed my attention being. I would like to work while going more and more perfection in the field of neonatology is what i like and especially the high risk.
After a few years i would go to southtern Chile for two reasons first because i love the south and the second because i want to be a midwife almost "unique" in a more secluded place :D ... After being some years in the south i would like to return to Santiago and settle well and try to work in the private area with a medical team... And to further study and more and more perfection as we know as a health hollowing tracks can not stop of study and we have to give the best care and security to our users ... Medicine varies year to year and must be at the forefront of that

Blogger! 3 :)

My favorite subject this year is called physiological Obstetrics.
I really love this class because it is very interesting and important.
It is basically everything that occurs in woman that is growing, it is local and general physical changes, emotional and psychological and also envolves the development of the fetus from conception to birth.
This sector is critical to my future career because i will be able to make prenatal care and thus to assess the weeks of gestation, namely the welfare of the fetus, what is happening with him. Advise the mother in terms of nutrition and teach you what you need to drink so that it is development is successful. The easiest of the brunch is that the subjects are interesting and striking know it... is a motivation!! ... the hardest part is that sometimes i can not remember ranges that are important, but i know that with practice will take them and makes it part of me. My grades are quite good, the end of the first unit with a six and something else. Teachers who do this subject are numerous and vary according to the subject being treated, but are mainly teachers of the school of midwifery which are vey nice.

The site i like is www.series21.com is a site that occur in series television. This site has all the series that usually occur in channels such as Warner Channel, Sony and others. By accessing images of the series is most visited, there is an alphabet to find the series you want in alphabetical order and also has a form where you enter the name of the series you want to see and once he finds it shows you all the chapters with their respective seasons.
I really love this website because in it i can find yourself in all the series that i like and that are in different channels, but it is best that i can see the chapters before it premieres on the channel and what pleases me most is that i can watch over and over again.
It is fun after doing all the things i have as students relax and watch my favorite series. :):):)
As often the time is short for all the obligations i have as a student i can not see the series that i like ( for obvious priority school, family and others) on television, so i see them through this site and generally takes once a week and i get a day in the chapters that i stopped seeing (just for a matter of time) , but i like.

hello!!
My name is María José, i have twelve years. I was born in Santiago and at five years i moved to southern and after eight years my family and i returned to live here in Santiago.
Today i am in second year of midwefery at the University of Chile and is definitely ther carrer i love!!
The aggressive in my carrer i would like to continue studying a carrer that helps me to improve myself day and day become the best at what i propose. I really like the area of neonatology despite having no experience in this area so far, but i think it is a beautiful area of my carrer and that future i would like to improve myself in it, but who knows...perhaps the experience in clinical practice i do know other areas of my carrer i have not seen.
In my two years as s student i had from ther first year of visits to hospitals where i could take vital signs and at other times as an observer of attention, which for me is very good because i think that lets us know that we will face in a future and also lets us know how to treat patients and how to relate to health personnel which leads us to become better professionals.
